According to a post on his Facebook account on 19/02/2023, META's founder, Mark Zuckerberg, announced the launch of the new product "META Verified," a subscription service that allows you to verify your account with a government ID, obtain a blue badge, additional protection against accounts pretending to be you, and direct access to customer service, as he describes it.
Deployed initially in Australia and New Zealand, Meta Verified will be accessible starting at 11.99 USD per month or ~144 USD per year.
Through Meta Verified, an optimization of the verification process is expected, which currently takes several months, putting an end to all the malpractices of creating fake accounts and spreading misinformation in the name of public figures or businesses.
