WHEN ART AND AWARENESS MERGE

The cost of food waste amounts to 572 million dinars annually in Tunisia. This observation is alarming, especially in the tourism and leisure sectors. Magic Hotels, a chain that has been working for years to reduce this scourge, received our support this year through a large-scale campaign that aims to raise awareness among both adults and children, named

We conceived a concept that seamlessly combines new technology, art, and awareness. Using artificial intelligence to generate visuals depicting leftover food transforming into monsters, we accompanied each creation with a story narrating the tragic fate of food when left on plates.

These cinema-style posters were displayed at the entrances of restaurants in 8 Magic Hotels, each featuring a QR code. When scanned, it directed customers to a list of important tips to be conscious of and, most importantly, reduce food waste while enjoying their meals.

The campaign was a tremendous success with hotel guests throughout the summer season, generating over 8,000 scans. Every passerby took the time to admire the artworks and read the accompanying stories. Both adults and children showed interest, and parents did not hesitate to explain to their children the purpose of the exhibition and the importance of reducing food waste.

The campaign was deployed on Magic Hotels' social media channels, accompanied by an explanatory video that garnered 387 shares on Facebook and 200 saves on Instagram within 24 hours.
